Preparation
Salt the herring, cover with flour and fry in a pan in oil.
In a saucepan, bring to boil: soy sauce, water, a tablespoon of cane sugar, grated ginger and garlic, lime juice. Pour the sauce onto a rimmed plate, place the herring on it, sprinkle with red onion and chives, drizzle with sesame oil.
.Eat warm or cold with bread.
